The author reflects upon the influence of home space on human identities in the context of rapid changes in reality seen through the prism of reportage narratives by Dorota Brauntsch and Karolina Kuszyk. The difference in perspectives presented by the authors does not exclude the possibility of capturing common elements of domestic space image in analyzed texts, and thus it does not preclude seeing the mutual experience of inhabitants of Silesian villages and settlers of Polish Western and Northern Territories.
