Summary

In 1969, Tadeusz Konwicki published Zwierzoczłekoupiór. The novel due to censorship was addressed to children and a mature reader. The censor wanted to make a political and social contexts less visible in the novel. It happened differently though, the book gained universality outside the political sphere. Author interprets the novel by analyzing the figure of anxiety embedded in it, which becomes a force that deprives man of freedom and thus gains the greatest power over him.
