Summary

This article attempts to substantiate Jan Błoński’s opinion and prove its philosophical depth: “Karol Wojtyła’s poetry is strictly religious.” Following Martin Heidegger’s idea of poetry, this text focuses on meditation as a mode of poetic speech, posing a couple of important questions. 1) Who is the speaker in Wojtyła’s poetry? 2) Whom does he speak to? 3) How is he speaking? 4) What is he speaking about? 5) When he speaks, is he heard? Answering these questions allows us to understand the fundamental themes of Wojtyła’s poetics and serves as an indispensable introduction to it.
