In the article the structure of artistic space in a symphony And. Bely «Returning» is analysed in a projection on symbolistic conception of two worlds, the functions and the nature of the ideal space were found out; the connection between the type of artistic space and metamorphoses of characters is traced. The author of the article proves that in “Returning” And. Bely has created the image of the transitional superreal space and eclectically used reasons and images, which belong to different cultural traditions.
