Summary

The article concerns the lexis of the contemporary Polish language at a specific moment of its development – in 2020, in times of the SARS-CoV-2 pandemic. It shows ways of enriching vocabulary – borrowings (external and internal), neosemantisms and neologisms. The author analyzes how extra-linguistic reality influences language, changes it. It points to the productivity of the crown-morpheme, which creates new words that call pandemic reality. The text ends with a description of the words of 2020, both in Poland and abroad.
