The article presents a comparative analysis of Krystyna Chiger’s memories in the book The Girl in the Green Sweater and a film In Darkness directed by Agnieszka Holland, which was based on the prose. The research showed that the cinematic work differs from the literary original in many details, and reveals several parallels. The Polish director places Leopold Socha, the Polish Moses, at the centre of the film, who, with the risk of his own life, protects a group of Jews and hides them in sewers in Lviv. The reminiscent prose of Chiger, however, outlines a broder timeframe, showing fates of the family that survived the Holocaust before and after the war.
