Summary

The objective of the article is to analyze the impact of communism on the interpersonal relations of the characters of two important novels by Ingrid Beatrice Coman entitled Per chi crescono le rose (2010) and Tè al samovar (2015). The stories are set in the gloomy realities of two countries: Romania and the Soviet Union. The reflexions are divided into three main parts. The first depicts the historical and personal perspective which characterizes the novels by Coman, the second is dedicated to the life of the captives in the Soviet gulag, the third presents the problematic relation between father and son in communist Romania.
