Summary

The ironic and humorous portrait of ‘the most famous cat of the People’s Republic of Poland’, one of the heroes of Tadeusz Konwicki’s prose, reconstructed in the article, is an opportunity to tell the story about the animal associated with the man, as well as the writer and his bophilia, about the relationships with something that is ‘significantly different’. The prose writer appreciates the attributes associated rather with undomesticated fauna, such as strength and wildness. He describes the relations based on responsible, restrained, ‘male’ friendship but also on the law of strength, rivalry, and the struggle to recognise one’s own position in the eyes of the other.
