Summary

The article analyzes Maria Iwaszkiewicz-Wojdowska’s literary heritage in a genological, memorial, and intertextual context. The research problems concern the relationship between the memories of Z pamięci’s author and her father’s prose and poetry. Attempts to answer the question about the poet’s work in the context of Maria Iwaszkiewicz’s publications lead to reflection on the processes of consolidating and “recreating” memory in her memoirs. According to the article’s thesis, the choice of the tale (gawęda), characteristic of stories about families, would be aimed at shaping a specific (positive, warm) vision of the past of the writer’s and her father’s family.
