This article’s goal is to expose elements of the modern worldview in short story Głucha przestrzeń by Stefan Grabiński. Analysis of the text is focused on genre specification of weird fiction, characteristic of the ideas from first half of the XX century and metaphysical matters. Significantly, it is going to reveal fundaments of subjectivity, which are crucial for ,,polish Poe’s” novella.
