The article analyzes the way Edmund Niziurski presents literature and its creative process in his novels and short stories. Many of his narratives feature a variety of literary themes: protagonists-writers, characters of poets, props of fictional (non-existing) books, references to authentic texts and even allusions to other works by the author himself. The metaliterary content of Niziurski’s stories is not only their constant and repeatable element but can also significantly influence young readers’ views on what literature is and the perspectives it opens for its audiences and/or creators.
