Summary

The rhetoric used by the characters in Sergiusz Piasecki's prose is full of linguistic humour. All of his published novels and short stories were examined using the close reading method. Rhetorical devices appear primarily in the thief trilogy (Jabłuszko, Spojrzę ja w okno…, Nikt nie da nam zbawienia). Despite the fact that the action is set in a criminal environment, references to classical, elite literary culture were found.
