Summary

This article attempts to analyse Günter Peuser’s book entitled „Aphasie” (Aphasia). The author of the publication is a German linguist, special needs teacher and university lecturer. The book is the result of his work as a clinical linguist at the Rheinische Landesklinik für Sprachstörungen (Rhenish State Clinic for Speech Disorders) in Bonn. It provides an overview of the working methods of clinical linguistics in the central field of aphasia research. In addition to detailed instructions for diagnosis, it also introduces the basics of aphasia therapy. An extensive collection of oral and written texts by aphasic patients gives a vivid impression of the peculiarities of this speech disorder.
