Summary

Nowadays carnality enters in social space. A painted body creates a human’s image. People are more often perceived by their appearance, than personality. A flawless face and body become priorities for them. The attitude to the body has changed during centuries. As a result of social changes, the canon of the body was revealed. It is expressed not only in the cult of youth and beauty, but also in consumptive lifestyle. The painted body is a product constituted by fashion. It is a work that has to be improved and corrected. The beauty created in fashion magazines, Internet, TV become a tool used for creating new reality, Baudrillard calls it ”hyperreality”. It fits in the issues of mental representation and there the beauty is not a gift from god, but authorized obligation.
