Summary

The subject here is the dramatic nature of corporeality present in the lyric poetry of Anna Kamieńska. The distinctive features are discussed of the somatic style noticeable in the poems of the author of Biały rękopis, confirmed by the presence of sight, touch, hearing, taste and smell. The motif of the Virgin Mary and the figure of compassion are also subject to analysis. The conclusion that follows is that the issue of the body and corporeality present in Kamieńska’s poetry refers both to human physicality (the natural body), and to the cultural perspective, which frames corporeality as a dimension of existence.
