Summary

In Ota Pavel’s short story The Death of Beautiful Roe Deer, we show the way in which the topos locus amoenus is configured here. For this purpose, we notice not only the narrative strategies and composition, but also the basic features that together contribute to the semantization of this topos in the short story. In conclusion, we would also like to point out that, despite the literary construction of this topos it has this more general overlap in the author’s life, as we prove with the relevant passages from his correspondence.
