Summary

The article concerns short stories of contemporary Polish mountaineers. The significant quality of this type of writing becomes apparent in the selected texts – a combination of narrative and reflection on vertical mountain space. The author describes the characteristic features of poetics and introduces the metaliterary problem. He uses the concept of “haptic sublime” distinctive for the writing of modern mountaineers to consider the problem of the potential novelty of the analyzed stories in the context of the Polish tradition of Tatra mountain literature.
