Summary

The article is an attempt to present the category of autothematicism as an important element of postmodern literature. That issue is analyzed on the example of the experimental novel Do szpiku kości by Krzysztof Jaworski. It is an author, who constantly uses self-reflection strategy and often connects it with an intertextual practice. In Do szpiku kości Jaworski expresses vision of postmodern literature which is exhausted and which has problem with its own ontological position in the contemporary world.
