Summary

The article discusses the role of poetry in the construction of the discourse of its time. Commencing with some reflections on Umberto Saba’s work, the analyses focus on the contemporary context in which the main point becomes the poetry of Milo De Angelis. The work traces some peculiarities, such as the authors’ relationship with their cities of origin. Facing the time of pensiero debole, theorized by Gianni Vattimo, artistic production reveals its necessity to enter into a dialogic relationship with memory. This approach, seen through Friedrich Nietzsche’s lens, is found in De Angelis’s poems which consequently become a possible tool of contemporary discourse.
